Calculate Mean & Standard Deviation (for Casio fx-96SG PLUS)

The instructions works on the older Casio fx-95SG PLUS calculator as well.

Step 1: Enable the 'Frequency' column in calculator

Press SHIFT, followed by MODE to reach the following screen:

Press ▼ (Down direction key) once:

Press 4 to select ‘4: STAT’ :

Press 1 to enable ‘Frequency’ column

Step 2: Enter data

Let’s consider an example. The following table shows the number of goals scored by the first twenty Manchester United players in the 2012/2013 title winning season.

Press MODE:

Press 2 to choose ‘2: STAT’:

Press 1 to choose ‘1: 1-VAR’

Press AC to return to the main screen.

Step 3: Calculate Mean

Press SHIFT followed by 1:

Press 4 to select ‘4: Var’

Press 2 to calculate meanPress 3 to calculate standard deviation — Press 2 to calculate **mean**
Press 3 to calculate **standard deviation**

Once done, press MODE followed by 1 to switch back to normal operation.
